Chandigarh: Panchayats have come forward to de-addict the rural youths. Fund would be provided by the Panchayats to run the de-addiction centres in the villages. Soon, the Government will impose charge on the Panchayats in this regard .For the success of de-addict of youths, the rural department has prevented the process to merge rural doctors to Health department till the next year August, 2019. With the proposed fund, medicines and other arrangements will be done in the 1187 rural dispensaries. Talking to , the Rural Development and Panchayat Minister Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa said that help is being sought from the NRIs.Bajwa is the minister, who has initiated process against the drug. He was also the first, who announced for his dope test, later is become trend in political circle. Now, Minister has announced to de-addiction of his assembly constituency Fatehgarh Churian till August 15 of this year. He said that he has announced Rs 5 lacs for the purchase of gym and sport goods for those villages of his constituency, which will turn drug free in stipulated time. He also told that villager have been given free hand to capture drug supplier to hand over to the Police.He told that the rural development has 1187 dispensaries, where the drug addicts will be admitted. For the medicines of other infrastructure, the Panchayats have come forward to help the Punjab Government. A genuine fund will be collected to spend on the purchase of de-addiction medicines. He told that the patients of surrounding villages will be admitted in dispensary.
